CIUDAD VICTORIA, The Ministry of Public Security announced that Tamaulipas State Police personnel would be introducing preventative measures to strengthen all municipalities in the metropolitan area (Tampico, Madero, Altamira) following the discovery of 13 dead bodies this 25 December in the south of the state within its boundaries with Veracruz.
The Secretary of Public Security, Rafael Lomeli Martinez, revealed that in the framework of the meeting of the interagency coordination group involving operational, state agencies, the Secretary of the Navy, the Ministry of National Defense , the Federal Preventive Police and judicial police, decided to step up surveillance in the region.
In this way, the public official, is relying on better security in Tamaulipas’ municipalities adjacent to the state of Veracruz, and allows staff attorney general to conduct the necessary investigations.
Lomeli Martinez said authorities set different strategies to avoid further risks to the population of the metropolitan area.
He recalled that last Thursday the aforementioned cities were subject to increased surveillance by the military authorities of municipal police functions, and on average amounts to just over 500 troops.
In addition, said Monday and Tuesday, would be coming to the metropolitan area Tamaulipas officials to support the region in order to avoid risky situations, the insecurity generated in the sector border between Tamaulipas and Veracruz.
