
Precursor chemicals from China confiscated!
The federal government reports that, thanks to the coordination between the Secretariat of the Navy of Mexico (Semar), the Attorney General’s Office (PGR) and the Tax Administration Service (SAT). The seizure and immobilization took place at the Port of Lazaro Cardenas, Michoacan. Twelve shipping containers were located and each had inside precursor chemicals monomethylamine, used to manufacture methamphetamine and cocaine hydrochloride, with an approximate weight of 194,900.00 kilograms.
All in shipment containers which arrived at the port of Lazaro Cardenas , Michoacán, from China.
Ten of the containers had the final destination Puerto Quetzal, Guatemala, and the remaining two were headed to the port of Corinto, Nicaragua.
The Delegation of the PGR in the State of Michoacán, began preliminary investigation of a crime against public health, for investigation and clarification of the facts. The confiscated chemicals were made available to the Public Prosecutor of the Federation, being under the guardianship and custody of the Tenth Naval Zone.
With actions like this, the Federal Government reaffirms its commitment to work for protecting health, preventing the sale, distribution and consumption of drugs produced by the chemical assured.
