MONTERREY, Nuevo Leon, on March 23. – The Office of Nuevo Leon captured Arturo Saucedo Rodriguez, Gulf cartel hit man, who confessed his involvement in at least 25 murders, said the Security Council.“Arturo Saucedo was captured on March 19 and confessed that he was working for the Gulf cartel for about six months,” said Jorge Domene Council spokesman, told a news conference.
Domene said that the prisoner, who has the alias ” The Buffalo “was part of a cell that participated in some 13 attacks, and that as a hit man he charged 8 000 pesos per fortnight.
Saucedo admitted that he participated in the recent grenade attacks against the bars “Excellent” and “Woman” in Monterrey, and that killed three people, two drug dealers of rival Los Zetas cartel. Also he participated in three multiple murders against more than 10 taxi drivers for the Gulf cartel who worked as a “hawks” (informants) for Los Zetas.
He also confessed to a series of crimes against state prison guards, traffic wardens and police officers who allegedly collaborated with the rival group. The Monterrey metropolitan area is disputed by the cartels since March 2010 by Los Zetas and the Gulf cartel for the sale of drugs in the conflict that has killed nearly 3 000 victims so far.
