MEXICO CITY (25/MAR/2012). – The Attorney General’s Office (PGR) arrested 30 people and said more than 850 doses of cocaine, marijuana and psychotropic drugs were found during the search of a bar located in Cuauhtemoc.
In a statement, the agency warned that a complaint specified that the nightclub was selling drugs, so the Office of Special Investigations of Federal Crimes conducted an investigation to verify that the possible commission of a crime was being committed.
This agency began a preliminary inquiry in which it requested and obtained from the Federal Criminal Court Second Specialized searches, a call for the wire-tap of Communications lines for aid in the investigation of the suspected premises.
The raid was conducted in coordination with experts and federal police on a bar at 143 Medellin Street Local 2, Colonia Roma Norte, in Cuauhtemoc. The police secured over 850 doses of drugs, a firearm caliber 9 mm, searched the building and arrested 30 people, eight of which allegedly were involved in the sale of drugs within the bar, and 22 others who were found in possession of various doses.
The PGR added that people give their statements to the officer and in the next few hours will determine their legal status. The drugs and weapon were available to the Social Representation of the Federation, who will continue with the integration of a preliminary investigation.
