Sergio Asuad Oscar Otero, aka the “Mouse” was arrested in the southwestern city of Cali, after making several trips to Ecuador

Sergio Asuad Oscar Otero, aka the “Mouse”, considered one of the links with Mexico’s Sinaloa cartel in the region.

In a statement released on Saturday in Bogota, the institution reported that the subject, Colombian cartel member North Valley, was arrested in the southwestern city of Cali, after several trips to Ecuador.

According to the report, “Mouse” was commissioned to provide “effective contacts with the Mexican Mafia, particularly with the Sinaloa cartel,” gangs working for drug traffickers in Colombia as Los Urabeños.

The National Police said that Otero was required Asuad extradition by a court in the Southern District of Florida, USA, to answer for crimes linked to drug trafficking in the North American country.

According to the source, “Mouse” became the border with Ecuador in its hub, and was even in the neighboring province of Lago Agrio, which struggled for drug shipments, so they had to return to Colombia.

Before his trip to Cali, underwent plastic surgery on the nose and chin in a prestigious clinic in the eastern city of Villavicencio, in order to change his appearance and avoid capture by the authorities, the report said.

The suspect appears to be linked to the murder of a man known by the alias “El Gordo”, which was an informant for the U.S. Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) who participated in a controlled delivery operation and was killed in November 2011 in Bogotá.
