Mauricio Ramirez Tamez, alleged leader of the Gulf Cartel plaza in San Luis Potosi, was arrested Wednesday in Reynosa
Military personnel arrested in Reynosa, Tamaulipas, Tamez Mauricio Ramirez, nicknamed “Diamond”, alleged leader of the Gulf Cartel plaza in San Luis Potosi, reported the Ministry of National Defense (SEDENA).
In a statement, the agency said that this guy was arrested on Wednesday along with two others, who were assured .38 super nine cartridges, a charger, three cell phones, 550 pesos and two vehicles.
According to research, since 2011 “Diamond” served as manager of the state of Zacatecas to Los Zetas criminal organization, under the leadership of Ivan Velazquez Caballero, alias “the Taliban”, who is also brother.
After “the Taliban” is enlisted with the Gulf Cartel, Tamez Ramirez followed and they went to San Luis Potosí, to organize the offensive against Los Zetas, in order to wrest control of that entity and Zacatecas.
Following the arrest of Velazquez Caballero on September 28, “the Diamond” moved to Reynosa, Tamaulipas, to hide under the protection of the Gulf Cartel, where he was arrested by military personnel.
The Department of Defense explained that this guy concocted the murder of 14 members of a criminal cell on 9 August in the city of San Luis Potosi, for the risk they were stalwarts of Miguel Angel Trevino Morales, “Z-40”.
Tamez Ramirez, his two accomplices and the insured were made available to the relevant authorities for further research and determine responsibilities.
